I create images that captivate: Images that display a riveting visual rhythm, images that contain intense — or subtle — color combinations, images that capture the fleeting relationships between people and things, images that make the mundane seem special.

I photograph people and man-made objects using available light. Most of my images are spontaneous creations of the moment. However, in my series A Matter of Focus I research and plan the scene in advance to create the image I have in mind.

In my day job I am a computer scientist for a big graphics software company. I live in Seattle with my wife and my two daughters.
